Ten days ago the mammoth task of cleaning the seats at Derby County Football Club began, some 1,400 man-hours later the task is complete.
A team of 30 people, made up of a mixture of students, football fans and relief cleaners have worked for 8 days cleaning the 32,600 seats in the stadium. Many of the staff will go on to work throughout the season to help clean up after Home matches.
StadiaCare’s DCFC Account Manager, Jen said: “You would be surprised how dirty the seats get, the biggest problem we face is chewing gum and birds, more specifically, bird poo!”
“The seats are cleaned to remove all the dirt and then buffed so they are shiny and smear-free, basically each seat is cleaned twice! It’s not an easy job and the team has worked really hard to get it done.”
Every year the seats are clean ahead of the new season and now the seats are ready for DCFC’s first pre-season friendly, which takes place at home on Saturday 29 July when DCFC play Hoffenheim.
The StadiaCare cleaning team has now moved on to carry out a deep clean of the kiosks and public refreshment areas.
